The Purple Unicorn Celebrates Cancerversary?


Today marks the 1 year anniversary of our favorite singer-song writer, The Purple Unicorn, Breast Cancer diagnosis.


At only 26 years old, Jay. I was diagnosed with bilateral stage 3 breast cancer in March 2019.


Then she underwent a double breast mastectomy and then breast reconstruction surgery.


Jay. I experienced a lot of ups and downs throughout her short 27 years on earth, but her hardest battle was defeating stage 3 breast cancer.


If you are a cancer survivor or diagnosed with cancer, or It might be a loved one of yours diagnosed with cancer.


It might be your last day of treatment. It might even be several important dates that occur throughout someone's cancer journey.


The Unhappy Beginnings of Cancer’s Happy Endings is what we are neglecting, the golden opportunity to prevent cancer, even while we seek to cure.


A Cancerversary, like a cancer experience, is unique. For all the cruel randomness and vagaries of cancer, the disease, as a brand, is extremely consistent. There are the well-known treatments: chemotherapy, radiation. There are the familiar expressions: Stage IV, metastases, remission, cure.


Here’s how you can honor your Cancerversary.
